City-Wide Meeting

December 19, 2009

Mid-way through the semester's final exams, the students wandered into our meeting looking a little more weary, a little less rested, a little more drained than usual.  But as we began our time together, sharing updates, praying for one another, and beholding together the work of God throughout the city, the atmosphere quickly gained momentum and energy.  As we learned, the students are daily witnesses to some incredible things the Lord is doing in, around and through them!  For example, a group of about 20 believers at Moscow State University (picture below) hosted a small delegation of believing students from Kazakhstan for a week of ministry training.  This group of believers boarded their train back to Kazakhstan with not only hands-on experience in starting a university ministry, but with a tangible goal modeled by their friends at MSU!  The students from Moscow State humbly acknowledged that the Lord was using them not only on their own campus, but now in a city in Kazakhstan miles and miles away!  

Student's communicated with passion their commitment to trust God for their universities. One said,

"Your university;

it is your responsibility."

Acts 1:8 is lived out in these student's lives for their fellow students; as they are sent to their campuses.

Other students like Nika above from Moscow Mining Unviersity shared stories of the Lord opening doors in their dormitories, in their classrooms, with their teachers, seeing students come closer to Christ, one step at a time.  Students from two very different universities, Moscow Humanitarian and Moscow Mining, partnered together for a Christmas outreach where 30 of their friends and classmates got to hear the good news of Christ's coming, a message that for many changed the way they think about the holiday.  Everybody had something to say about the Lord's goodness to them this past semester.  We, along with these students, are constantly encouraged and surprised by God's great work in Moscow.  We can hardly wait to see what the Spring will bring!

Winter Bible Conference

God is building student-led spiritual movements across all of Russi. As we walk with Him and trust Him, He moves and changes lives. It is the Lord who builds movements.  And at this conference, we want students to cling to this truth and grow deeper in their relationship with Him. As they are being built up as leaders in spiritual movements and asre seeking and trusting God to use them to fulfill 2 Timothy 2:2.

Students will take part and return fromt he conference convinced of God's mighty opower and tyo seek and invest lives in those who would continue the work on their campuses.

Pray for the Moscow students to attend the Bible Conference

Pray for the day of outreach when 100+ people will go to the students of Moscow to share the Gospel during the conference. Pray that lives would be changed after this day of outreach.
