From Russian Students

At Moscow State University, students Zulfiya and Mischa, are eager to lead a “seekers” Bible study and invite their friends to come discuss the relevance of Christ and his claims to be God.

“I have something inside of me, and I want other students here to know, too,”

said Zulfiya, while strategizing what the group could look like with team interns.  Please pray for these students, that they would form a strong commitment to lead the group, and that they would be bold with the Gospel.

"I love living in Moscow because of its potential! The big city is where it all happens. Moscow is the Hollywood, New York, and Washington D.C. of Russia. When you think of the population of Moscow being around 11 million and 1.1 million of those people are students that means that 1 of every 10 people that you pass by on the street is a student! These students are the next generation of influencers in Russia, not just Moscow. I can't think of a city that has more impact on its' country other than Moscow. People from all over the world are moving here for the fast pace life and countless job opportunities. In the city, you can see and feel the diversity. Especially when talking with students you can learn about the many different religious and cultural backgrounds they come from. It's neat to think that although everyone is so different, Christ could be the uniting factor that brings them all together. I love Moscow for its' potential! I can't let go of the vision and the possibilities of what God could do with this generation of students in Moscow. What would it look like to turn this place upside down for the glory of Christ!?!"

STINT 04-06

The first time I went to Russia I was on a summer project and reconnected with an acquaintance of mine from college who was finishing up her STINT year.  Her name was Beth.  Every time I saw Beth I could not help but be drawn in by the peace and joy that radiated from her.  Something had happened that year and she was different.  Now I know it was not because she had a fabulous year, on the contrary she faced many challenges that year.  But God had done something miraculous and she now loved and walked with the Lord in a deeper way than ever before.

I went on STINT because I wanted to see and know God like I never had before.  Moscow is where God changed me.  Moscow is where I experienced the beauty of community and the ugliness of my sin like never before.  I experienced what it felt like to be believed in, I experienced what it felt like to fail and receive the riches of grace without guilt.  I experienced a deep compassion for the lost.  I experienced the adventure of a lifetime in a city of 12 million.  I experienced life like never before in Moscow.  What would God want you to experience and finally believe?
